I’m volunteering because I believe addressing global poverty isn’t just a moral obligation, it’s a foundation for solving many of the world’s most pressing problems, from health and education to conflict and exploitation. Through my work building Stop Now Foundation, I’ve seen firsthand how poverty and lack of opportunity can leave people vulnerable to exploitation, which has deepened my commitment to addressing root causes rather than just symptoms. I’m drawn to global issues because they remind me that effective change requires both local action and a broader, systems-level understanding of how poverty, policy, and human dignity intersect. The Borgen Project’s focus on political advocacy as a tool for poverty eradication speaks to my belief that lasting change requires not just compassion, but engagement with the systems and policies that shape people’s lives.
