Courtney’s Tips and Strategy
- Raise awareness, engage and make it easy to give. Share your “why”. Engage with potential donors to help them learn more about global poverty, i.e. trivia. Provide QR Codes to give.
- Don’t be afraid to ask for help. Ask local restaurants to donate gift cards for a global poverty awareness and fundraiser event. Then, you can raffle off the gift cards that were donated. I had $5 raffle tickets at my event and this raised $715!
- Your community will help out more than you think. Ask a local restaurant to host a dinner. I charged for entrance and the net proceeds went towards The Borgen Project. The restaurant also donated $1 from every drink purchased that afternoon including guests that came in before my event.
- People want to see you succeed. I raised my fundraising goal three times on my fundraising campaign page. When people saw I was close to my goal, they wanted to help me achieve it.
