I am volunteering with The Borgen Project because I believe poverty is not just a local issue, but a global one that requires advocacy, awareness, and action. As someone who cares deeply about communication, storytelling, and social change, I want to use my voice to help bring attention to issues that affect people beyond my own community. I am interested in global issues because the challenges people face around the world, such as poverty, hunger, lack of healthcare, and limited access to education, are connected to larger systems of power and policy. I believe the United States has a responsibility to support efforts that improve lives in developing countries. Volunteering with The Borgen Project gives me the opportunity to be part of that work by advocating for policies that can make a real difference.
