I am volunteering as an intern for The Borgen Project because global poverty isn’t an abstract issue to me. It is something I have witnessed first hand especially because I grew up in Nigeria for over 19 years. I saw the everyday realities of families struggling to afford basic necessities, limited access to healthcare and education and so much more. That’s why I am volunteering because its not just about charity it’s about pushing for the kind of structural change that can put a stop to poverty in the long run.
