I’m an intern at The Borgen Project because I want to contribute towards making the world a more equitable place for all. According to Time Magazine, the money spent by the U.S. on the war in Iran could fund humanitarian assistance abroad for almost three years. This accounts for the recent war in Iran alone, but there have been countless instances where we chose destruction when we could have extended our hand in empathy instead. Seeing the injustices that have plagued our world during the short 22 years of my life has continuously reaffirmed my sense of urgency and passion to address them.
