What is a PSA? Short for public service announcement, PSAs are awareness ads that radio stations air for free.
Steps for Submitting PSAs:
- Search for radio stations in your area. Use sites like radio-locator.com to find as many stations as possible.
- Email each station individually asking them to air a Borgen Project PSA. Include a link to the PSA page in your email.
- Make follow-up calls. Many station only have a generic contact form. You’ll want to call stations and ask “who handles your psas?” Follow-up with that person.

Dear KIRO Radio,
I’m hoping you can put me in contact with the person in charge of PSAs. I’m a resident of [your city] and a volunteer with The Borgen Project. I would love to hear The Borgen Project’s PSA air on [name of station]. You can listen to and download the PSAs here. The Borgen Project addresses extreme poverty and is a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization (EIN 20-0536470).
