How did you get interested in global poverty?
Living in a 3rd world country since birth, extreme poverty was “normal” for me to witness on nearly a daily basis. I then immigrated to the UK and lived there for 8 years, where it became very apparent to me that extreme poverty in South Africa was not normal.

What’s your favorite thing about being part of The Borgen Project?
I am part of a fantastic team and the passion resonates through every member of the organization. Being part of The Borgen Project also makes me feel that I am contributing to combating global poverty even if in a small way.

What advice do you have for people who’ve just joined the organization?
Stay passionate about combating global poverty and do not lose sight of what the organization strives to achieve!

What does your typical day look like?

  • Managing our interview schedules
  • Reviewing trackers
  • Monitoring various inboxes
  • Allocating donations
  • Setting up fundraising pages
  • Conducting interview
  • And any other tasks that I am able to assist the team with.

Where’s your favorite place in the world?
Wherever my family is.
