TIME IS MONEY. AUCTION YOUR TIME TO RAISE FUNDING FOR THE CAUSE.

Do you have a special trade (computers, landscaping, carpentry, etc.)? Auction off 2-4 hours of your time. No skills? No problem. Auction off two hours of  your time to do grunt-work or helps someone out with various chores.

Getting Started

  1. Let friends, family and co-workers know that you’re auctioning off your time. Most people have chores that they’d love to have someone else do (scrub the shower, clean the blinds, iron shirts, etc.). Find out what they’d want help with and ask them how much they’d donate to The Borgen Project in order to have your help.
  2. Leverage. If Aunt Sally will donate $45 to have you paint the porch, ask grandma if she’ll donate $50 if you prune her trees.
  3. Go big. After the winning bidder is established, reach out to the runner ups. Offer to do to what they bid for as well. You’ve got some work ahead of you, but instead of just raising $100 from the winning bidder, you can add an additional $80, $50, $45, etc. to the total.
  4. Get the donation right away. As soon as they’ve won, ask them for check payable to The Borgen Project or have them donate online. Also immediately, schedule a time to complete the work.
