Selling your old clothes is a great way to clean out your closet and make some cash. Most places offer more in store credit than in cash, but if you are smart about your selling, you can walk away with quite the stash.

Tips:

  • Remember to sell clothes for the upcoming season. If it’s summer, take any autumn attire in. The store is most likely trying to get ready for the next season and will want your clothes!
  • Make sure what you bring is in good condition. Make two piles: one for Goodwill and one to try to sell. Don’t bring things to sell that have seen most of their better days already.
  • Accessories count! Bring old purses, wallets, belts and jewelry. Often these will be worth more than you think.
