Fundraising Goal: £400

How did you get interested in global issues?
As a global citizen I believe it is our collective responsibility to address disparities within our society, positively impacting the lives of those most affected. As a politics student I have always had an interest in global issues and feel addressing world hunger and poverty is a genuine cause that I can put my efforts towards. A teenager when covid-19 swept the world, I saw first hand the devastating effects it had in my community, this made me wonder how drastically worse these effects were experienced in developing countries.

Why are you volunteering your time to serve the world’s poor?
I have always had a passion for volunteering, from peer mentoring to helping my local primary school on disco nights. My choice to volunteering with The Borgen Project comes down to my belief that we should always help those in need and contribute to making the world a better place. Borders and nationalities should not become obstacles to our empathy. I grew up watching children in need on TV, finding the volunteers work so admirable, I am beyond fortunate to be able to make a difference like them and so many others do.

Any interesting tidbits to share?
My Hobbie or some would say obsession is the gym, as a daily goer I find it gives me discipline and stress relief and I would recommoned it to anyone and everyone.

My Compassion/Humility List
I will do the following for any friends and family who donate in my honor.

  • I will be walking 6K a day!
