Name: Walaa Qirbi
Location: London, United Kingdom
Role: Political Affairs Team Member
Fundraising Goal: £400
How did you get interested in global issues?
As a global citizen who has lived in different areas of the world, I am keen on the helping and development of fragile states in any ways that help.
Why are you volunteering your time to serve the world’s poor?
As someone who has lived in between Yemen and the UK, I have a strong urge to help the disadvantaged in conflict torn countries. Every person has a moral and social responsibility to offer help to those in need when possible, and to make an impact no matter the significance.
Any interesting tidbits to share?
Reading has been a big part of my life. From fiction novels to books on philosophy, politics and religion. Learning more about different cultures and social phenomena around the world intrigues me. I also passionately enjoy pottery and cooking.
