Valentina Castro Lopez

Name: Valentina Castro Lopez
Location: London
Role: Nonprofit Leadership Team member

Fundraising Goal: $500

How did you get interested in global issues?
I became interested in global issues through my study of Political Economy at university. I realised that as globalization rises, we can’t survive without each other. Social, economic, environmental and human rights issues become our own and by informing ourselves and spreading awareness we can make sure to take the necessary steps towards becoming part of the solution.

Why are you volunteering your time to serve the world’s poor?
I am volunteering my time to serve the world’s poor because I believe our greatest harm is our inaction. Any type of input I can provide (whether it be big or small) to help individuals in challanging situations unfamiliar to me, makes a world of difference.

Any interesting tidbits to share?
I enjoy painting in my spare time as well as going to the cinema and the theatre.
