Name: Taylor Clarida
Location: New Lenox, IL
Position: Political Affairs Intern

Fundraising Goal: $1,000

How did you get interested in global issues?
I came across The Borgen Project website, and it made me realize that there are global issues, such as hunger, that need to be addressed. There are places in the world that have major things to worry about, that many people in the United States never have to worry about, so I felt an importance to help in any way that I can.

Why are you volunteering your time to serve the world’s poor?
I am very fortunate to have never had to worry about where my next meal would come from, and after research, I saw that the world produces enough food for no one to experience hunger, but we still have poor and hungry nations. This being said, I want to help make a difference and work towards helping improve the lives of people.

Any interesting tidbits to share?
I am a mathematics major with a political science minor, in hopes to go to Law school one day.

In my free time, I volunteer, and I hang out with my animals.

I own 5 ducks, 1 horse, 8 chickens, 2 turkeys, and 2 dogs!

My compassion/humility list:
I will do the following for any friends or family who donates in my honor…

  1. $25: I will give you a high-five and write you a letter of gratitude.
  2. $50: I will let you play with my ducklings.
  3. $150: I will let you ride my horse and pay for a riding lesson.
  4. $250: I will throw you a pool party at my house.
  5. $500: I will clean your whole house and cook the dinner of your choice.
