Name: Tanika Turner
Location: Dallas, Texas
Position: Writer

Fundraising Goal: $500

How did you get interested in global issues?
I realized that I am merely a small fish in a large pond. As I got older, I realized it was important to not only know about domestic issues, but global issues as well.

Why are you volunteering your time to serve the world’s poor?
I just want to help someone other than myself without expecting something in return. I believe that if you have the ability, you should bless someone else.

Any interesting tidbits to share?
Ever since I can remember, I have loved reading. My hobby is makeup artistry, and I like to freelance when I can. I once thought I was a renaissance woman because I do so many things, but came to realize that I am just scattered–in a good way.
