How did you get interested in global issues?
I grew up moving around and experiencing different cultures, so I’ve always been interested in the cultural aspect of international issues. It wasn’t until I was older and dug deeper into global inequalities that I began understanding the true scope and implications of global poverty.
What do you do when you’re not fighting global poverty?
I like to bake and try new recipes.
What have you learned/found interesting about The Borgen Project?
Working in the Seattle office has allowed me to work closely with the core of The Borgen Project’s organizers, and it confirmed that the people working behind it are as dedicated and passionate as this movement requires. The commitment by everyone involved is invigorating and makes it such a rewarding organization to be part of.
Any interesting tidbits to share?
I’m a “Third Culture Kid.” My dad is Cypriot, my mom is American, and I have lived in Italy, Greece, Belgium, and Florida (and France, if you count study abroad). Answering people when they ask me where I’m from is always a challenge.
