I am volunteering as a Political Affairs intern with The Borgen Project because I believe that world poverty is a leading global issue that desperately needs to be addressed, particularly post-pandemic. The idea of The Borgen Project to use making poverty the focus of US foreign policy resonates with me as the US is one of the most, if not the most influential state in the world. The focus of the organization to enact real change and mobilize people through showing them tangible steps they can make towards ending world poverty is also very important to me as it clearly demonstrates that the organization is really doing something about the issue.
