I decided to join The Borgen Project as a Regional Director to help fight global poverty and to help felicitate change- to be a part of something that can potentially make a big difference. I truly believe poverty is not just a lack of money, it is not having the capability to realise one’s full potential as a human being. I would like to be that glimmer of hope for the many and not for the few, as there are so many people in the world living in dire circumstances, and perhaps they may be breathing their last breath right now just because they are helpless. Unfortunately, in 2020, 97 million more people were driven into poverty and the reality is that it is not getting any better. These are not just facts or statistics these are real people and real people’s lives, dreams, and aspirations which are being crushed, for something that was not done by them yet they are having to pay the price. This is why I am so passionate about tackling global issues such as global poverty because we may be the first generation that can eradicate global poverty once and for all!!
