Name: Sherice McElroy
Location: FT. Sill, Oklahoma
Role: Human Resources Intern

Fundraising Goal: $500

How did you get interested in global issues? I came across The Borgen Project and became knowledgeable about the issue of global poverty based off of the information on the website. It ultimately motivated me to get involved. After reading and watching certain videos, I noticed that this is a good cause to stand behind. I decided I have to help people who are in need.

Why are you volunteering your time to serve the world’s poor? I’m volunteering because I care for people who are enduring and fighting poverty. If I was living in the same condition(s), I would want someone to do the same for me. It makes me happy that I can make a difference in at least one person’s life. I love giving back and helping others.

Any interesting tidbits to share? I love to travel and eat. My dream is to travel around the world and try different foods and restaurants.

My Compassion/Humility List

  1. $75: Clean up your house or apartment
  2. $25: Cook dinner
  3. $15: Wash your car
