Name: Ryan Hodge
Location: Woodside, CA
Position: Political Affairs Intern

Fundraising Goal: $1,000

How did you get interested in global issues?
My grandfather worked as an economist for the World Bank and my mother created a non-profit organization aiming at increasing girls rights in developing countries. I have been able to travel to places that are in dire poverty because of this, and it has sparked my interest in combating global poverty.

Why are you volunteering your time to serve the world’s poor?
I am incredibly grateful for everything that I have been given in life, and I find it unfair that so many people in the world don’t even have sufficient food or drinking water. I think all people should do more to contribute to helping this cause.

My compassion/humility list:
I will do the following for any friends or family who donates in my honor…

  1. $20: Walk your dog
  2. $50: Buy you lunch
  3. $100: Complete your errands for the day
  4. $200: Make you a 3-course meal
  5. $500: Be eternally grateful
