How did you get interested in global issues?
I have always been interested in the news and knowing the state of world affairs. When I started my a-levels and joined my college’s Model United Nations team, my interest for politics rapidly increased. I enjoy knowing what issues are challenging us globally and what our political leaders are doing to tackle them.

Why are you volunteering your time to serve the world’s poor?
As someone who knows what it is like to be in the minority, I want to help people feel like they are not alone. I imagine that living in poverty must feel so isolating and as if the whole world is against you. If I can help just one person and make them know that they are not only important, but cared for, then I will be happy and feel as if I have done something purposeful with the fortunate circumstances I have.

Any interesting tidbits to share?
My hobbies include reading, knitting and studying. I am also autistic and have Tourette’s.
