Name: Rohun Allagh
Location: Richmond, Virginia
Position: Political Affairs Intern

Fundraising Goal: $500

How did you get interested in global issues? Through my major in Political Science with a concentration in International Relations, Virginia Commonwealth University’s Political Science department has opened my eyes to the many issues and challenges our world faces, one of which includes global poverty.

Why are you volunteering your time to serve the world’s poor? I believe that anyone has the ability to change the world, even if it is on a small-scale. I was lucky enough to be born to a loving family in an amazing country; however, many people across the world do not have the resources and opportunity that the citizens of our country have. For this reason, I volunteer my time to The Borgen Project to make sure I can fight for those who truly need it.

Any interesting tidbits to share? I stream over 1,000 hours of music each year on my Spotify, and I enjoy playing the saxophone in my free time. I also love to explore the great city of Richmond and try all of the unique restaurants this city has to offer.

My compassion/humility list:
I will do the following for any friends or family who donates in my honor…

  1. $15+: I will send you a hand-written thank you note
  2. $40+: A video message, along with a thank you note
  3. $80+: A delivered care package of my essential snacks, a video message, and a thank you note
