How did you get interested in global issues?
My childhood was filled with so many experiences of traveling to so many countries and meeting people from all walks of life. Having that opportunity at such an early age, combined with engaging in political affairs domestically and abroad, have made me tune into global issues. In my eyes, I believe that we should focus on issues that span the globe because people exist beyond our communities.

Why are you volunteering your time to serve the world’s poor?
Fundamentally, I believe that every person should have an equal opportunity at achieving success and fulfilling dreams in their lifetime. However, poverty remains a plague which inhibits people from doing this. I am volunteering my time to organizations and causes which advocate that those with power, opportunity, and resources try to address this in as many ways as possible.

Any interesting tidbits to share?
I’ve travelled to 23 countries in my life, and I hope to impact as many people I meet as possible!
