How did you get interested in global issues?
Kofi Annan once said that, “Suffering anywhere concerns people everywhere.” I felt a strong empathy towards this idea when I was volunteering in Thailand, Nepal, and Mexico. During the days I was around, the intensity of poverty and little to no access to decent health care were beyond description. From then on, the seed of humanitarian planted inside of me, and I wanted to dedicate myself to global issues.

Why are you volunteering your time to serve the world’s poor?
Through the website of The Borgen Project, I came across that every day there are thousands of people around the world suffering from starvation, water shortage, homelessness, limited education, etc. and countless deaths due to those issues. Thus, I am motivated and eager to donate my energy and time help mitigate and help the world’s poor.

Any interesting tidbits to share?
I am into feng shui, and I can tell people’s traits through their faces and hand-readings.

My compassion/humility list:
I will do the following for any friends or family who donates in my honor…

  1. $50: Do a massage for you
  2. $100: Make dinner for you
  3. $150: Clean your home for a week.
