Piri Boland

Name: Piri Boland
Location: Sheffield, United Kingdom
Role: Political Affairs Team Member

Fundraising Goal: My initial goal is £400, but I would love to go above and beyond this.

How did you get interested in global issues?
I really wanted to channel the skills I have developed into benefiting those who are much less fortunate than myself When searching for a position that would allow me to do this, I came across The Borgen Project, which educated me on how much impact these issues truly have on people. Prominent issues such as Covid-19 and the war on Ukraine have caused turbulence in the realm of combatting global poverty, which means we must fight that much harder to win support for those that need it, now more than ever.

Why are you volunteering your time to serve the world’s poor?
There are so many benefits to helping the worlds poor and I want to be a part of something much bigger than myself.

Any interesting tidbits to share?
I love to stay active and spend a lot of my time either in the gym or running!

I have a few creative bones in my body, this mostly translates to my passion for painting and making people happy through my art.

In my academic studies, I have enjoyed learning about public law, the constitution, the role of the executive, and how law works in action!

My Compassion/Humility List
I will do the following for any friends and family who donate in my honor.

  • I will be running a half marathon to raise money for this amazing cause, so please sponsor me and donate!
