How did you get interested in global issues?
Being the daughter of immigrants and having traveled to my parents’ homeland has opened my eyes to how different other countries’ standard of living is. It breaks my heart to see that in some places basic access to clean water and electricity is not the norm.
Why are you volunteering your time to serve the world’s poor?
As a citizen of one of the leading world powers, I believe that it is my duty to lift up other less fortunate countries in any way I can. Serving the world’s poor is so important because every single human being deserves a certain standard of living that can help them achieve happiness, comfort, and safety. Raising awareness about global poverty speeds up the process of finding solutions to poverty and the problems it causes.
Any interesting tidbits to share?
I am a fan of Harry Potter, foreign cuisine, and taking pictures. Dogs are better than cats.
