How did you get interested in global issues?
I am currently studying to be a journalist. So for me, constantly reading news and keeping up with events is a must so I can learn more about journalism and the news cycle. Because of this, I am always reading and learning about places and people that need a helping hand. One day I want to be telling and informing people about these issues, to make sure the world knows about those who need help, and help teach them what they can do to help them.

Why are you volunteering your time to serve the world’s poor?
The enemy of progress is ignorance. Every day people on the other side of the world suffer, and how can anything be done to help them if no one knows they are there? I want to get the word out, to look out for the little guy, and make sure everyone knows about these issues. A lot of people in America and first world countries sometimes forget how good they have it. Because our lives have so much potential, it is our duty to use some of that potential and help the worlds poor, by giving them a chance to have a life just as good as ours. Because a long life full of possibility is what everyone deserves, no matter where they are from.

Any interesting tidbits to share?
I am both an aspiring Journalist and Novelist. I have a passion for all things fantastical and beautiful. It is my dream that one day people will sit down on a park bench on a fall day and read my work just to pass the time. I want to share my stories and my writing with the world, I want to entertain people and make their lives just a bit happier. I am also and avid gamer and Dungeon Master, and live my life trying to see the best in everything.
