Name: Njoud Mashouka
Location: Madrid, Spain
Position: Writer Intern

Fundraising Goal: $500

How did you get interested in global issues?
I joined a different volunteer program every summer since I was 12, it opened up my eyes to the challenges that the world is facing.  Pursuing a Bachelor in International Relations allowed me to grasp the fact that those issues are globally spread and addressing them is immediately needed.

Why are you volunteering your time to serve the world’s poor?
Inequality is an important concern of mine, the writer internship at The Borgen Project allows me to create awareness regarding global inequalities.  Through creating awareness, the number of people fighting those inequalities will increase. It is important to spread awareness on behalf of those who cannot voice out their own issues.

My compassion/humility list:
I will do the following for any friends or family who donates in my honor…

  1. 30$: Daily falafel wraps for a month
  2. 150$: Dance in the middle of the mall
  3. 400$: Get my driver’s license
