Name: Morgane Laine
Location: Cumming, Georgia
Position: Political Affairs Intern

Fundraising Goal: $1,200

How did you get interested in global issues?
I enjoy reading about current events and culture. As a result, I see all the bad things that happen in the world, one of them being poverty, so I wanted to do something about it. Then, I fell upon The Borgen Project, and I knew I wanted to take part in it.

Why are you volunteering your time to serve the world’s poor?
I’m tired of reading and seeing stories in the news about the poverty in Africa and other places. I think that there is more that we can do to downsize poverty.

Any interesting tidbits to share?
I speak fluent french, and I am proficient in Spanish. I enjoy French and Spanish culture. I also enjoy cooking and baking.

My compassion/humility list:

  1. Do chores for 2 hours
  2. Plan a vacation
  3. Organize a closet or a kitchen

I will do the following for any friends or family who donates in my honor…

  1. I will have everyone over, and cook them a homemade meal and a yummy cheesecake for dessert!
