Name: Mia Frankel
Location: Seattle, Washington
Position: PR/Marketing Intern

Fundraising Goal: $1,000

How did you get interested in global issues?
To start, I am an International Studies major at the University of Washington. Throughout many of my courses, I have gained an understanding of many global and domestic issues which further stimulated my interest and desire to work towards addressing and solving some of these issues.

Why are you volunteering your time to serve the world’s poor?
In search for opportunities and jobs and wanting to do something that benefits myself, I want to be able to do something that benefits others—to do something good. I want to be able to devote my capabilities, resources, and platform to those in need of it.

Any interesting tidbits to share?
I love to travel and try different foods. Learning new languages really excites me! I can speak Mandarin, Japanese, and a little Spanish. Additionally, I enjoy backpacking and hiking.

My compassion/humility list:
I will do the following for any friends or family who donates in my honor…
1. $125: Do your chores for a week
2. $100: Watch your kids for the weekend
3. $50: Cook dinner for you
4. $40: Walk your dogs
