Name: Marissa Pekular

Fundraising Goal: $500

How did you get interested in global issues?
For close to three months, I traveled around Europe last year. I was introduced to different ways of life, and as a result, I became interested in global matters specifically concerning impoverished countries.

Why are you volunteering your time to serve the world’s poor?
Volunteering is a moral responsibility of mine. Everybody should do as much as they can to help the world’s poor.

Any interesting tidbits to share?
I enjoy writing about political affairs, and I love to sew.

My compassion/humility list:
I will do the following for any friends or family who donates in my honor…

  1. $50: I will paint your fingernails and toenails.
  2. $75: I will give you a massage.
  3. $150: I will make you dinner.
  4. $250: I will be your driver for a day.
