Position: Political Affairs Intern

Fundraising Goal: $500

How did you get interested in global issues?
I was watching popular national news channel one night and noticed the minimal time spent on issues progressing in other countries. This prompted me to do some research on my own about issues affecting other countries globally who are struggling to rebuild their economies, reframe their governments, and keep their citizens healthy and safe.

Why are you volunteering your time to serve the world’s poor?
I am volunteering my time to this cause because I believe it is important to stand up and help when I see something that is wrong. Our federal government continues to decrease the International Affairs budget that can offer aid and relief to countries in need, while reallocating money to our already heavily funded Defense budget. I believe that by funding the International Affairs budget, our government can do its fair part in providing relief to countries who need it while also improving opportunities for the United States’ international relations and economy. My hope is that by volunteering my time, I can help these ideas be realized by members of Congress.

Any interesting tidbits to share?
I like to read, practice yoga, bake, and binge-watch new television shows.

My compassion/humility list:
I will do the following for any friends or family who donates in my honor…

  1. $75: Bake you a sweet treat
  2. $125: Clean your house
  3. $200: Be your personal assistant for a day
