How did you get interested in global issues?
My upbringing is what piques my interest in global issues. While being raised in Dubai, my upbringing kept me very close to my roots, and every time I visited my homeland India, I was surprised at how different it is compared to Dubai. I was able to see the rights and opportunities provided to the less fortunate as well as their living conditions from a humanistic perspective. The memory of seeing children my age begging stuck with me and inspired me to get interested in international issues and learn what I can do to bring about change.
Why are you volunteering your time to serve the world’s poor?
I’m volunteering my time to serve the world’s poor as I believe that those with more resources are capable of making a significant change and helping those less fortunate. With time, my passion to help make a change only gets stronger and I hope to be able to make a difference working with The Borgen Project.
Any interesting tidbits to share?
I love taking pictures and capturing memories especially on film and digital cameras and making montages!
A random fact about me is that I cannot remember song names
