Name: Madison Gonzalez
Location: Virginia Beach, VA
Position: Political Affairs Intern

Fundraising Goal: $500

How did you get interested in global issues?
I have spent my four years at Old Dominion University studying international studies and political science and have become aware that because of globalization, the issues that people in other countries face also have an impact on us and in other places because of our extreme interconnectedness. It is important that we tackle this giant problem as a group in order to inspire change.

Why are you volunteering your time to serve the world’s poor?
Dedicating time to serve the world’s poor would further make our national security stronger, improve the economy, and improve the lives of those in the world who need the most help.

Any interesting tidbits to share?
I thoroughly enjoy traveling. So far, I have visited six different countries with hopes of seeing many more.

My compassion/humility list:

I will do the following for any friends or family who donates in my honor…

  1. $75: Cook dinner
  2. $100: Babysit
