Name: Luci Ventura
Location: New York, New York
Position: Human Resources Intern

Fundraising Goal: $500

How did you get interested in global issues? Visits to the motherland —The Dominican Republic — have changed my perspective in more ways than one. I’ve taken it upon myself to educate myself on economic disparity around the world.

Why are you volunteering your time to serve the world’s poor? Today, millions are currently under the wrath of vicious poverty. These issues need to be addressed through any means. The problem at hand seems untouchable, and many lose hope in being able to eliminate extreme poverty, but people fail to realize that small feats can lead to bigger ones, no matter how long it takes.

Any interesting tidbits to share? I love to read books, travel, and binge-watch TV shows.

My compassion/humility list:
I will do the following for any friends or family who donates in my honor…

  1. For every $10 donation, I’ll try to draw you
  2. For every $25 donation, I’ll walk your pet
  3. For every $50, I’ll take you to my favorite restaurant in NYC
