How did you get interested in global issues?
Everything I’ve interacted with always appeared to have some kind of roots within global issues, especially in regards to poverty. From my teacher who ran a charity club built on their experience in Moldova to the Hamilton musical explicitly mentioning impoverished conditions in the Carribean to some of my favourite music artists having gone from the slums to fame, I have never found shortage of informants about global issues. That captured my interest, and it became something I wanted to help tackle.
Why are you volunteering your time to serve the world’s poor?
I talk to a lot of people who are poor, hungry or homeless. I see how other people treat them, and obviously I want to help them, but then comes a second thought: if this is how people are treated in a country like England, what is it like in a country that can’t afford it?
Any interesting tidbits to share?
I am prolific artist, always drawing and working on a comic, and I absolute adore musicals. I think entertainment is an underrated way to reach people who care.
