Name: Kristin Allgaier
Location: Reston, Virginia
Position: Political Affairs Intern

Fundraising Goal: $1,000

How did you get interested in global issues?
I have always been interested in global issues and global aid, I just did not know how I could get involved. This internship has allowed me to be a part of changing these global issues.

Why are you volunteering your time to serve the world’s poor?
I am volunteering to help the world’s poor because the people that need our help are the ones who are not capable of helping themselves. When we fight global poverty, we are not just helping those in need, we are creating consumers that will ultimately help not only the United States, but the whole world. I am so excited for this opportunity to help fight global poverty!

Any interesting tidbits to share?
I am a political science major and women’s gender and sexuality studies minor at Dickinson college where I play on the volleyball team.

My compassion/humility list:
I will do the following for any friends or family who donates in my honor…

  1. Cook you dinner!
  2. Walk your dog!
  3. Send you information on how you are helping fight global poverty!

If there is anything else I can do for you, let me know!
