Name: Julian Mok
Location: Lexington, KY
Position: Writer

Fundraising Goal: $500

How did you get interested in global issues?
I’ve always had an interest in global issues, but recent travels and focalized studies on development has driven me to become more inquisitive and more compelled to help.

Why are you volunteering your time to serve the world’s poor?
It’s important to bring the struggles of those in need into the view of those who can help. By volunteering, I’m advocating for the world’s poor on a national scale in a country with the political and economic means to truly make a difference.

Any interesting tidbits to share?
I’m an avid plant collector, a passionate taco taster and enjoy spending my Friday nights lifting heavy weights before cuddling up in a nest of blankets to watch junk reality tv shows.
