Name: Jonathan Molina
Location: San Diego, California
Position: Political Affairs Intern

Fundraising Goal: $1,200

How did you get interested in global issues?
Taking a variety of early college classes in Humanities and Social Sciences gave me a new and detailed view and perspective on the world. I began to study and think regularly about the dark sides of this world, as well as avenues towards blunting some of the hardships and struggles that others in the world must face.

Why are you volunteering your time to serve the world’s poor?
I believe it is important to use platforms of privilege in order to fight against drastic inequality in this world. The privileges in my life have allowed me to pursue all kinds of amazing things in life, and I want to make sure I dedicate at least part of my time towards fighting for the vast number of people who lack the fundamental resources necessary to fight for themselves.

Any interesting tidbits to share?
If the San Diego Padres make the playoffs in 2019, I will be a very happy boy! It is amazing how a talented and positive team can pull a city together. I can talk to countless strangers and bond over a shared goal due to their success, and others can too!
