Name: Jillian Turkmany
Location: Manhattan Beach, CA
Position: PR/Marketing Intern

Fundraising Goal: $1,000

How did you get interested in global issues?
I was brought up with values that include wanting the best for others and have been aware of social issues from a young age. I feel that looking out for others in our community and beyond our community and national borders should play a part in every person’s life.

Why are you volunteering your time to serve the world’s poor?
I am volunteering my time to serve the world’s poor because I believe poverty and world hunger need to end. I have been incredibly blessed in my life and want to use my time to help others.

Any interesting tidbits to share?
Spending time with family and friends and going to the beach are my two favorite things to do. I also love to travel, run, and paint in my free time.

My compassion/humility list:
I will do the following for any friends or family who donates in my honor…

  1. $150: Bake you a dessert
  2. $250: Paint you a picture
  3. $500: Provide you dinner for a week
