Name: Jessica Curney
Location: Wixom, Michigan
Position: Writer

Fundraising Goal: $500

How did you get interested in global issues?
I took a trip to the Dominican Republic and was instantly overtaken by the amount of poverty and how the locals of the country lived. The fact that they weren’t receiving any type of assistance deeply affected me.

Why are you volunteering your time to serve the world’s poor?
All it takes is one person to make a change even if it’s a small change. This change probably won’t have a significant effect, but it helps to know that I am taking the time out of my life to help and make a change in someone else’s life.

Any interesting tidbits to share?
I enjoy photography and all things filmmaking, and I am an avid Game of Thrones fan and dog lover.
