How did you get interested in global issues?
I have had the opportunity to travel to many different places during my time at college. I studied abroad in Ecuador, Puerto Rico, and have taken personal trips to many European countries. Traveling outside the US has given me a rich appreciation for other countries and allowed me to see first hand how unfortunate many people are in less wealthy countries. This gave me a passion to make a change and do anything I can to prevent global poverty.

Why are you volunteering your time to serve the world’s poor?
Since I am so fortunate with my lifestyle in America, volunteering some of my time to help the poor is the least I can do to make the world a better place.

Any interesting tidbits to share?
I am currently writing this from a hammock! I love to do anything outdoors and find that nature is extremely healing and allows me to think more clearly.
Another hobby of mine is cooking, and I love to experiment with different cuisines and ingredients. I previously worked as a cook on an organic farm, so I got pretty skilled with working with whatever ingredients are available.

My compassion/humility list:
I will do the following for any friends or family who donates in my honor…

  1. Cook dinner and/or dessert for you and your family for a $60 donation
  2. Make a full week’s meal prep (3 meals a day for 7 days) for $200. All meals can be customized to suit your personal diet preference.
  3. Dog sitting for $7 per hour
  4. Dog walking for $5 per hour
