Name: Jainaba Gaye
Location: Kennesaw, Georgia
Position: Political Affairs Intern

Fundraising Goal: $1,000

How did you get interested in global issues?
By watching news coverages of world issues, especially of those related to conflict and their consequences. Living in a dictatorship for 20 years (in The Gambia) also sparked my interest in politics and made me question what the international community was doing about it.

Why are you volunteering your time to serve the world’s poor?
I have always been disturbed and saddened by the mass human suffering going on around the world. Growing up in a Third World country (The Gambia), I got to witness this firsthand, and I want to be involved in a process that helps change this.

Any interesting tidbits to share?
I am a hair and makeup enthusiast. I also love watching movies, cooking and doing outdoor activities from time to time.

My compassion/humility list:
I will do the following for any friends or family who donates in my honor…

  1. $60: Cook you dinner
  2. $100: Do your hair and makeup for free
