I’m raising money for The Borgen Project because I think the UK and US can and should do more to address global poverty. Neither country is currently meeting the target originally set by the United Nations, for 0.7% of Gross National Income to be spent on foreign aid. We need a reorientation of our foreign policies, directing more funding towards aid. Through my fundraiser I hope to help The Borgen Project continue their work raising awareness of global poverty and lobbying politicians to support poverty reducing legislation.
