How did you get interested in global issues?
By being an International Student at University in the US , I got a better perspective of how things work across different cultures and how issues are differently perceived on a global scale. This drives me to address global issues and bring about a change in society on a global scale.

Why are you volunteering your time to serve the world’s poor?
As a young girl studying in a residential boarding school in India, I often wondered about how life would be outside the four walls of my school. The employees who were responsible for taking care of our security as well as our wellbeing often came from impoverished backgrounds and worked long hours so that their children could have food on the table. As I grew older , I realized that this is an observation of a larger issue at a first hand level and all these people who were a part of my family in school drives me to address and work towards solving global issues like that of poverty.

Any interesting tidbits to share?
I enjoy travel writing and photography and try seeing new places whenever I have the time. Being in a new place, trying out new kinds of food and being in a new culture always excites me.

My compassion/humility list:
I will do the following for any friends or family who donates in my honor…

  1. For $50 or more, I will cook you a traditional Indian meal which will consist of Butter Chicken and Dal Makhani
