I am fundraising for The Borgen Project this Summer and Autumn because I believe in their high-efficiency approach to ending extreme poverty around the world by lobbying the world’s major powers to spend more on international aid. As a student of International Relations and Economics with a focus on development and behavioral models, I am acutely aware of the outsized impacts poverty reduction can have on welfare and human rights. A call, email, or meeting with a local MP or a donation to The Borgen Project to fund advocacy efforts can go a long way in supporting an increase in Overseas Development Assistance funding back to pre-COVID levels.
