How did you get interested in global issues?
I have always known that global poverty is still a great issue existing in the world. I had not felt a need to voice my opinion on it since I assumed it was already being taken care of by our government and supporting forces. However, after seeing the world’s poor up front during a recent trip, I realized that this issue needed more attention and action.
Why are you volunteering your time to serve the world’s poor?
After realizing that global poverty needed more action in all aspects, it was clear that I wanted to put my efforts in raising this issue. Action begins with us. We need to voice our concerns to our Congressman. Global poverty is the basis and catalyst of many other global issues. In my opinion, volunteering my time would only benefit other issues that are occurring in the world.
