Name: Hanna Newhart
Location: Maritta, Ohio
Position: PR/Marketing Intern

Fundraising Goal: $500

How did you get interested in global issues?
I personally have always thought that the U.S. does not provide to countries that need it the most. After traveling to Romania, I got to see first hand how hard it is for others. It truly broke my heart, and I wanted an opportunity to help make a change.

Why are you volunteering your time to serve the world’s poor?
I want to make a change in the world and try to help provide things that people need. I take advantage of the basic things I have such as access to medical care, medicines, water, food, electricity, etc. I want to make sure that others have these basic resources available to them and that the U.S. will see the help they could provide.

Any interesting tidbits to share?
I love to travel to different countries and learn about their culture. I have played piano since I was 7 years old, and I love to cook/bake. I am a big basketball fan as well and like to take pictures.

My compassion/humility list:
I will do the following for any friends or family who donates in my honor…

  1. I will cook a three-course meal for $50 or more
  2. I will take pictures (couples, seniors, etc.) for a name your price
