Name: Haley Hiday
Location: Bluffton, Indiana
Position: Writer

Fundraising Goal: $500

How did you get interested in global issues?
I’ve always had an interest in U.S. foreign policy because of the far-reaching effects it has on the world we live in.

Why are you volunteering your time to serve the world’s poor?
I believe ordinary citizens hold the key to using the power our country possesses to protect and enrich the lives of those disadvantaged by circumstance. I see acting as an advocate for the world’s poor through The Borgen Project as the perfect way to promote real change in real time.

Any interesting tidbits to share?
I’ve been singing since I was very young, and now I am the manager of my university’s gospel choir. I am also an aspiring writer with a great love for the art of storytelling.

My compassion/humility list:
I will do the following for any friends or family who donates in my honor…

  1. $50: I will write and/or sing you a short song and post myself singing it to Facebook
  2. $100: I will choreograph a short dance to the silly song of your choice, film myself dancing to it, and post it on Facebook with a dedication to you
  3. $200: I will write you a fun personalized short story (starring you as the protagonist, of course) in the genre of your choice
