Name: Gifty Agana
Location: Conway, Arkansas
Position: Political Affairs Intern

Fundraising Goal: $500

How did you get interested in global issues?
I grew up in West Africa. I saw and experienced firsthand the tragedy of global poverty and the ability of those more fortunate to help.

Why are you volunteering your time to serve the world’s poor?
Most of my family and a lot of the people I grew up with were small farmers. With growing globalization, it has only become more difficult for those in my village to innovate and progress without help.

Any interesting tidbits to share?
In my free time, I like to go hiking, bowling, watch Korean dramas, hang out with my friends and explore the world as much as I can.
