How did you get interested in global issues?
Having grown up across various countries, I have always been exposed to global issues. I am fortunate too, to have a family that strongly believes in the importance of global exposure to expand your worldview and to put things into perspective. As we move out of the pandemic, and into an increasingly globalised world, I believe being interested and exposed to global issues is as important as ever in today’s climate.
Why are you volunteering your time to serve the world’s poor?
Spending my early childhood in Sudan to the later years in Switzerland only highlighted the global wealth inequality. I am passionate about doing important work to help others, and being aware of my priviledges and opportunities only makes me more conscious of my reponsibilty to give something back.
Any interesting tidbits to share?
In the winter I love to snowboard, and in the summer you’ll find me most likely snorkeling around coral reefs. I don’t like eggs. I have a weird sausage dog obsession.
My Compassion/Humility List
I will do the following for any friends and family who donate in my honor.
- This year I will be running a half marathon on the 21st May (after not having run for many years – pray for me!) All kind donations will be greatly appreciated!
